Streets of Blood 2

Maria giggled as she played with her doll
while sitting on a sofa. The TV blared loudly
but her attention was only upon her playing.
A beautiful smile radiated from her face and
charged the atmosphere of the room with
happiness.

Maria’s mom was in the kitchen, cooking a
late dinner, while her father was just getting
home. Her tio and tia would be joining them
tonight to discuss their plans for the upcoming
holidays.

Maria’s nine year old brother Pedro walked by
and quickly tugged upon one of the pigtails of
Maria’s doll. “Stop it,” said Maria as she covered
up her doll with a hug. The cartoons had come on
and Maria made herself comfortable, in order to
watch them.

Everyone was in the kitchen, when Maria’s
seventeen year old brother came in to the
house with a couple of his teenage friends.
They quickly went into her brother’s room.

Not even fifteen minutes later, the sound of
automatic weapons fire shattered the happy
scene, of a little girl and her doll enjoying her
favorite cartoons.

Maria’s dad ran into the room, but it was too
late. As he entered the room he saw little Maria’s
body convulse as bullet after bullet entered her
body. Everything that mattered flashed before
his eyes as Maria’s body lurched forward still
holding her doll until she hit the floor.

Bullets meant for her teenage brother had
now claimed the little girl’s life. Without a
warning, an unthinking, unfeeling, coward
had destroyed the life of an innocent child.

At the funeral the priest will offer up prayers
for little Maria, and in Heaven her little arms will
still be holding her doll. This is the reason that
drive-by shootings should never happen.

Somewhere a coward will celebrate, until he
finds out that it was a child which he killed. Then
he will hang his head in shame, because he knows
he will be hated and despised for the rest of his life,
because although God may forgive - La Raza never
forgets!

The lives of little children are precious and that is why
drive-by shootings should never happen!
