The Eyes of La Raza

Version 2, 2021

I saw the roses upon your cloak, as

you held me gently in your arms, and the

tears that fell from your eyes became the

stars in the night sky.

Nearby, upon a cactus, was perched a

mighty eagle with a serpent in its beak,

and I saw two great cultures become one.

Then I saw the pyramids arise, and visions

of a mighty empire, danced within my mind.

as I saw you standing there majestically,

before me.

When I stared into your eyes, I saw you

smile, and my heart became filled with

hopes and dreams.

The reflections of my thoughts, then led

me away again, and in your arms, I found

warmth and understanding, and in your

presence, I found acceptance, and love.

Suddenly, there was no sense of time
or of existence, as you and I became one

a single flame within a raging fire, the

sky turned blood red and filled my heart

with romance and passion, and it was

then that I 1realized, who you were.

As your beautiful eyes became windows

into my soul, I realized, that I was staring,

into, the eyes of my beloved, the eyes of
